Ordering custom wallpaper is easy when you know your wall size. Here's a simple, foolproof way to measure your wall in inches so you get the perfect fit — and pay only for the coverage you need.

What you'll need
- A tape measure (a metal one is easiest for tall walls)
- A notepad or your phone to write down the numbers
- A step stool or ladder for high ceilings
Step 1: Measure the width
Measure the wall from one side to the other at its widest point, in inches. If your wall isn't perfectly even (older homes rarely are), measure at the top, middle, and bottom and use the largest number. Write it down.
Step 2: Measure the height
Measure from the floor to the ceiling, in inches, again at the tallest point. If you have crown molding or a baseboard you want the wallpaper to meet, measure to that line instead.
